University Mailing Services will operate a normal schedule through December 23rd.

 We will be open to sort mail on December 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st , 2009. We plan to operate from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon on those days. You are welcome to come by to pick up mail for your department during those times. Because of the difficulty in locating a single piece of mail in over a week’s volume, we ask that you take all mail for your department. We cannot look for individual letters. The holiday mail accumulation will be delivered on January 4th or 5th.

We will meet the Post Office to receive but not sort mail on December 24th. You may make advanced arrangements to pick up your mail on that day, but the availability window will be brief.

We will operate the UPS and Federal Express work area during the holiday shutdown. We will pick up and deliver express shipments for those of you who operate during the holiday schedule, or you can make arrangements to pick up shipments. We know the Teaching Hospital, OADDL and the Police Department are always open. Other departments scheduled to be open need to contact Donna Morris or Seth Becker at 744-5385 to make arrangements for express service.

Each year we set a final day for accepting bulk mail for mailing prior to the Holiday. This year that cutoff will be December 16th at 5:00 PM. Standard Class bulk mail received after that time will not be guaranteed out before Christmas. Contact Donna Morris or Fred Evans at 744-5385 for critical bulk mailings after that date. If you are past the guaranteed mailing date, we are often able to meet your mailing requirement. First Class mail will go out as normal, and does not have a deadline. All of us do need to plan ahead for the holiday schedule.
